£230 wasnt the fitted price though, Probably just a flywheel price, The actual fitted price maybe less than £50 difference.

I had mine changed and a new metal water pump (the plastic ones give up shortly after a new belt is fitted)
it should have cost her no more than £200 mine was £244 but that included the pump
She can take the golf to a Seat or Skoda dealer as they all use the same engines and parts, a golf is actually skodas smaller brother
