We tow with an Astra Estate diesel 1.9l cdti (150bhp).
The van is an Abbey Vogue 470 1300kg all up.
It tows with no trouble whatsoever.
The only problem is on wet grass!
But there again most cars would suffer without 4 wheel drive!
Thats when the mover comes into its own!
Vauxhall Astra towing weights vary from model to model so I cant comment on all variants.

Hi Paul, I have Zafira19cc cdti executive, great to tow with,but find very bad blind area around side windows and front bothe sides of car, all round visability poor, found the interior panels so broad that it cuts out a lot of road,juntions and roundabouts are a nightnare to get clear view of road, had it one year, and nearly had five close calls, two I could not see oncomming car, other five were cars pulling out in front of me,gues what kind of cars they were, "no prizes)

I used to tow with a Zafira although it was on a "W" plate, 1.8 16v it used to tow well with either our old Avondale (980kg?) and it did quite well with our new Bailey Neptune (1200Kg), as Terry said it didn't do too well on wet grass but otherwise not bad at all, better than the Espace I have now!!
