Not a towing related question, sorry. I have a 2004 Mondeo TDCI 130, where is the fuse for the 12 volt plug/cigarette lighter. Mine has stopped working and I suspect the fuse. I found the fuse box under the bonnet but none of the symbols are for the cigarette lighter and everything else works. Please help its driving me mad..... Thanks.

Yup, two fuse boxes. The one behind the glove compartment is a bit of a pain to get too as well. Read your manual carefully as to how to do it rather than do what my OH did and use brute force combined with ignorance.

You have to remove the glove box to get access to it properly.
Fuse is No. 68 (top left)
You can fit the fuse in 2 positions, One will have it live only with the ignition on, The other it will be live all the time.

I hired a Mondeo a few years ago. Set off for Caernarfon from Bristol at 4.30am. The cigarette lighter wouldn't work to power the sat nav and I had no maps. I ended up taking the glovebox out in the motorway services with no tools to get at the fuse box. I managed it and got it working. ford made a lovely car but they could have made the fusebox more accessable.

Check whether it is actually the fuse at fault.
Mine stopped working and it was just the central contact needed cleaning.

The centre part on mine was full of muck, Soaked it in toilet cleaner overnight, Bit of bleach or white vinegar might work the same?
No point in just putting fuses in for them to pop again, They use the tiny little blade fuses.
