Looking for anyone's experiences of modern ply for refurbing an old trailer. Done the axle, wheels and the rust is nearly all off, but I now need to look at the boarding.
I've been reading that you can't really get the quality of marine-ply you could 20-25 years ago...is this true?
Also been reading that the next best thing is Finnish birch ply (5 layer instead of typical 3 from far east).
Can anyone help with their own experiences?

If you have a Jewsons depot near you they do a good far easton & brazilian exterior ply,not cheap as it used to be though.
------------- Think this year is to follow old meet friends for 2014.
If you cant do someone a good turn,don`t do them a bad one,its nice to be nice you know,and little things mean much more later in life.

I don't think you need marine ply anyway. Modern 'exterior' WBP (weather/water -depending on who you believe and boil proof) is fine. I've got some untreated WPB ply used as a 'temporary' repair to an external door 5 years ago, it is still sound and showing no signs of delamination.
This was just bog standard stuff from a local DIY place probably.
Obviosuly much better to varnish or paint it though.
