Pull a Pastiche with a Sorento....love the car and expect to get low MPG whilst towing however would like more MPG for general journeys around town and to & from work....
Please can you give me some alternative cars to pull a Coachman Pastiche 535/4
The coachman 535/4 has a MTPLM of 1550kg so would be above the tow limit of the vectra which are nearly all rated a 1500kg max , Ford Galaxy or the Honda CRV diesel will be better on fuel than the Sorento , I get 42 mpg with our CRV diesel solo if I drive sensibly and 24-25 towing a 1500kg van
Your going to be over a Mondeo limit also I think. We have a 1500kg Challenger & have been towing for a year nearly. But, we tow it with only essentials so its probably 1400kg or so. Tend to fill the car & roofbox. It tows beautifully, very stable & every time out it astounds me how easy it pulls. Economy wise we get about 32-34mpg towing, about 45-50 solo. I wouldnt tow our van fully loaded though. As good as the Mondeo is, it is a car & the van can be felt on the back, Our Mondeo is our second car, we've just bought a Galaxy so that will take over towing duties, but we've enjoyed some great trips in the Mondeo.
What about the latest Mondeo, think thats got a 1600kg limit. Failing that a Galaxy like us. I've trawled all possibilities looking for a tow-car for our heavyish van & the Galaxy, Sharan & Alhambra fitted the bill.
Another vote for the Galaxy/Sharan/Alhambra. Should get 30 ish towing and anywhere from 45-55 solo on a steady run. Make sure its a 130bhp cos with the 115 you may struggle a bit with a 1500kg van.
