hi after a long trip around most of england and back home and a fuel bill £450 we were thinking of changing to some thing more economical, but meet some great new friends at moulton who advised us to look at remapping options, as they had their disco done.   has anyone had their santa fe re-mapped /chipped  would you recommend it. and by whom would you recommend.

Not personally had it done but try the Hyundai Owners Forum - several people on there have done it.

Basically, all who've done it think it's great (suppose you would after spending up to £300 on it ). - they say slightly better fuel consumption (3-5mpg, so possibly not a good enough reason alone to do it?) but also better throttle response.

However, there are several people on there who worry that, long-term, it might damage the engine.

Also, they suggest go for the CPU re-map (costs £300) and not the bolt-on widget (on eBay for £150 or so). Both seem to have a similar effect but there is more concern about the damage the bolt-on solution might have.
