I would be interested to hear how people are getting on with the new Santa Fe as a towcar. I have been looking around for one but they are pretty scarce.

I was looking for the 7 seat model because it has the self-levelliing suspension but they are very scrace!  Has anyone towed with the 5 seat? if so how was it without the self-levelling suspension? Also appears that I would need a manual as the auto only has an 80kg noseweight(as opposed to 100kg on manual) which I would struggle to meet.

Thanks.

There are several people on the Hyundai owners club web site who tow happily with their new Santa Fe...

TBH, I never understand why people ask this question - I've never read a thread from anyone admitting that their car didn't 'tow like a dream' (with the exception of the old Discovery). If the car meets the required weight limits and has reasonable power, it will tow the van, surely? Stability is more down to how you load the car and van and how much you load - the characteristics of the car are irrelevant, IMO.

That is no different to any new car. Taking a car to a dealer for part-exchange is a guarantee to get the lowest price. Sell it privately and you'll easily get double what they offered you...

We bought our 5 year-old SF for £7k, a drop of £11k from new, which is 60% over 5 years - perfectly average (some cars lose 60% after only 3 years!).
