Hi all i am thinking of buying an astra estate 1.7 tdi on a 51 plate does anyone know how they tow i own an abi marauder 5 birth on the plate by the door its got to weights on it 1100kg and 790kg will it tow it?

any help would be great thanks.

Just popped the details into WhatTowCar using an Adria with 800kg MIRO and adjusting to 1100kg MTPLM and it shows at 87%

The Astra TD only has 67bhp and a max tow of 950kg so that would not be a suitable match despite the caravan being lighter than the cars kerbweight.

Check your logbook what does that say?

The higher powered CDTI engines can tow 1100kg MAX, So even with that you right on the legal limit.

My sister nearly bought one. They are so underpowered its silly.

One car where the 85% rule does not apply as it would be illegal to tow anything that heavy.
