Can't comment on the Superb, but have had two Octavia vRS models with the 170 Common Rail diesel engine and have orderd a Yeti 170 due in March.

The 170 unit is smooth, economical and tows well and I can highly recommend it.

I did consider the Superb 4x4 rather than the Yeti, the Yeti won for me, but only just.

I have towed with the old shape superb 130 auto pd also the new shape 140hp &170hp cr diesel and I towed a caravan that was 1400kgs without any problems.

I now tow a folding camper that is 1000kgs, and I tow it with a  skoda yeti 110hp cr without any problems.

Skoda have recently increased the max tow to 1600 KG on the mark 1 and 1800 on the mark 2

A brilliant car but please bear in mind it has a lower kerbweight than many of it's rivals, not a problem with a TT but may limit you if you changed to a caravan.

I tow with a 170hp twindoor and have had no probs.I have ben up and down through Frnce and the UK and have to say it is the best tow car I have ever had.I looked at a BMW 520 Diesal yesterday and while the owner said it is a goodtow car there was no room in the back compared to the Skoda,and it was 2011.
