Hi all,

Just wondered if I could use your experience and knowhow please.

I have a Skoda Superb 2.0 170 bhp DSG and wondered what the towing match would be with a 1999 Swift Challenger 500 SE fixed bed?

Can you please help as I'm struggling working it out?

Looking at what tow car site based on 2006 version of the caravan mentioned above it is 90% of the cars weight

I'm confused on what tow car site it states the kerb weight if the car mentioned to be 1560 kg.

The mtlp of the caravan to be circa 1400kg

When working out a towing match what figure should be used I was under the impresion the lower figure should b e used to ensure the car could take passengers etc.

So what figure do you work th 85% recommendation the caravan club recommmend towing at the higher or the lower figure?

It is 85% of the kerb weight not the gross weight, so if your kerb weight is 1560kg and your vans TPLM is 1400 you will be towing at 89.7% which is legal but above the recommended, hope this helps
