does any one know how to get the leaver down when the caravan is off thr tow veh or is it not able to go down untill hitched

you need to place a safety ball into the hitch then it will automatically lock down

Or manually do it by hand just lever the catch back inside tow hitch socket

Be aware that if you trip the hitch by hand it can bite!  It is possible to get plastic 'towballs' which will trip it,I have a blue winterhoff one, but i imagine the alko will work as well.
