Hi I'm quite new to caravanning although have towed horses for many year.
I have a Abby vogue 650 which I'm told has alko hitch ( it red) I have bought a shogun 3 litre and was told that I need an alko hitch tow bar fitted, it tows brilliant.
My problem is my daughter has an elddis avante 636 which I have towed previously on a BMW x5 and it goes like a dream but when I tow with the shogun it snakes really bad when u hit 60 it has a blue hitch any help on why, as it can be really frightening when it happens.
The different colour stabilizer is the red is manufactured by Alko the blue is Winterhoff Both will be ok on the Alko long neck tow ball but make sure you have no grease on towball and if they have been on towball with grease the hitch pads will need cleaning. When i use my trailer i always clean the towball afterwards before caravan is used.
