Is there a requirement to here a warning sound when indicating left or right on turning. My new Sorento has a factory fitted tow bar and does not give me any indication inside the vehicle when turning. My previous vehicle did. Is there any legal requirement.

hi,
you will find that if a bulb goes the flasher indicator on the dashboard will flash at a different rate to show a blown bulb. i have read somewhere that a warning must either be audiable or visual.

As above audible OR visual. As long as you have some form of warning.

Thats how they work. If they stop buzzing when your towing you have a bulb out.

On many modern cars, especially CanBus equipped ones, the flasher warning now is the bulb out warning system. That is if a trailer flasher doesn't work then the bulb warning light comes on.

^^ as above.. If its a factory fit towbar the lighting system will trigger a error to the dash. (on most equip'ed cars)

My santa fe is the same, obviously, and was told if there was a fault it would flash quicker than normal on the dash board.
