I am due to travel to devon in 4 weeks today & was just wondering if the weather has affected any of the roads down that way? Or will it be plain sailing?
I would leave it until nearer the time as I know that there was a lot of flooding around the Devon area but you'd be surprised how quickly the roads will return to normal if the rain eases, we've had a dry day in Somerset today and there is little surface water on the roads around us now
I am not aware of any main roads into the SW being closed due to flooding.
In 4 weeks time the Jetstream may be back to normal and the sun shining for your visit.
Ask again a couple of days before your trip or check with AA, RAC etc. if unsure.
The A35 Dorchester to Honiton was still closed earlier and several train lines were out of service too. But it could all change so check the AA site nearer the time.
Any minor problems that may exist will surely be resolved between now and when you go. Any situation that causes major routes to remain closed for more than a few hours are extremely rare indeed.
We don't have a motorway past Exeter I know but we do have a major trunk road all the way down into Cornwall.
