Hi could anyone please give me some advice on towbar choice. We have just purchased a 2006 kia sorento and instantly thought i would buy a fixed flange witter bar but on ringing around for prices one company said they prefer towtrust bars as they fit better and are more discreet. also our new caravan has 1x 13pin socket so should i have one 13pin socket fitted to the car or should i have the 2 traditional 7 pin plugs fitted any help would be great....
Witter towbars are the ones fitted by Kia dealers. However I don't think they have a 13 pin kit for the MK 1 and 2 Sorento's. However any good towbar fitter will be able to put a 13 pin socket on the car for you but just cheak that the fitting includes a live feed to charge the battery and allow battery use whilst on the move.
I have the 13 pin on my Sorento and have a small adaptor that plugs in it and then my trailer with 7 pin plugs straight in to that without any messy adaptor leads

I have one of these for my lighting board quite a nifty little thing, I think mine was a Milenco product.
I personally would never fit a twin 7 pin again. I fitted 13 pin on my Sorento 2 months after buying, after suffering regular centre pin meltdowns, since converting to 13 pin, I have never had problems with my electrics. I converted my old 2002 Coachman from twin 7 pins as I did not want all the wires at the A frame. I now have a 2010 van with 13 pin, so use as mentioned a converter for trailer etc which only needs the 12N wires.
