Would be nice to be able to afford a new Disco... only just bought a '97 300tdi.

So sorry, can't help but would like to extend to you a very warm welcome to UKCS.

The boys that know about towing weights will no doubt be along shortly to advise.

Decided to take the plunge and buy a new one ... although I considered the Hyundai Terecan as a vehicle.. it looks Ok but did not have 7 seats. Spent many happy caravan holidays in a Thomson Glenelg J and took part in some owners club rallies in Scotland..25 years ago though !!!

hi,

On second TD5 now, 300tdi b4, got this one last july. Have a swift conq 640, and bought it last may. new to towing and a bit apprehensive. But after a few miles got used to keeping the speed down and pulling out at junctions etc. Took it down to Devon in the summer (Seaton area) and the Disco was great. Pulling away with ease and to be quite honest i had to keep checking the mirror to make sure it was still there. would highly recommend the TD5.

I own an Abbey Aventura 340 & tow with an isuzu trooper 3.1 which does a great job . I have previously owned an old Discovery & found this towed horribly . However the TD5's are far superior in every way better suspension & a superb torquey engine . I very much doubt you will have any problem at all as they are more gutsy than my trooper . Aventura 340 has a max laden weight of 1614kg ( 31.7 cwt) . Your disco will have no problem with that .
