Setting off from Llanelli to Frome later and wondered if I;d be better taking the, M4 to Jct 18, A4 to batheaston, then A363 to bradford on avon, then B3109 to Beckington, then A361 to frome. Is this route caravan friendly? This route is in preference to going through Bath centre via A36 which seems to be very busy every time I travel along it.
if you get this in time - avoid Bath with caravan!
frome is just down the road from me....
easiest is come down M32, follow road to A37 as LaniDavis says.
if you want there is a nice route if you go down the M49, and then along the portway (under Bristol suspension bridge) but you will need the GPS to guide you and you need to have your wits about you with lane changes at a few points...again head out to Radstock and then on to frome.
I have towed to Frome many times from Llanelli. Through Bath is shorter but traffic can be horrendous. My preffered option every time is to leave the m4 just after Leigh Delaware services and take the A350 down past Westbury.
Avoid bradford on avon, If you come through westbury please wave as you go through.
depending on what time you hit Bristol this would be the best way, then to bath Radstock.
Ideal way good roads not so busy but a bit longer chippenham turnoff melksham westbury.
bath turn off M4 can be good but you have to avoid bradford on avon as it is a nightmare without a caravan. So follow the signs for warminster when you get to bath A36. Again depends on time of day
