I intend to fit towbar and 12n electrics. Therefore looking for guidance/advice on what needs  to be removed to (1) fit tow bar (2) install electrics.

Will be using Brink (thule) towbar and Honda electrics

Regards

Not sure how the brink one varies but.

Undertray off. You dont refit that.

Lower the exhaust. Loosely bolt side rails on with 8 bolts facing upwards.

Attach the main beam to the side rails also leaving the bolts slightly loose.

Trial fit the towball and brackets See if the bumper needs to be trimmed.

Trim the bumper if required.

Then tighen all the bolts to the required torque.

Refit the exhaust.

Update. Thanks for the guidance Grampian91 have put it into practice today.  I bought the Brink towar of Towequipe.  Ordered it Friday  am and it was delivered Saturday am.

Removed all the internal rear trim ( about 30 mins a side) and drilled all holes  (4 each side) and opened out top hole to take spacers. That took about another 45 mins per side, used file to open up holes to 18mm from 11mm.

Will drop rear silencer tomorrow and attach bar to underside after I have picked up wiring loom/kit from local Honda Dealer.  If all goes to plan should also get the loom plugged in and 12N fitted.

No cheaper places for the loom?   Honda dont make them.

It will have been bought in from elsewhere.

£93.50 dedicated loom. Free delivery.

Update

Finally finished installation of towbar, connected electrics and completed testing.  The most difficult part was running 12v wire from battery to rear interior for C2 module.  In all it probably took 6 hours to complete.  This include 2 additional coats of paint on towbar, painting all drilled/filed metal  surfaces.

Better man than I, well done. My mobile fitter took about 2 hours and 2 cups of tea
