Hi there I am looking for some help, I am new to towing etc and have purchased a caravan which I will be living in and towing for work. I believe it is a 5 berth 1992/1993 ace jubilee. I'm looking for a towcar but I'm having trouble working out what is capable of towing this caravans weight and what isn't. I've been looking at 2002 mondeo's (tdci) which I've been told would be good for towing, but I was also looking at a vectra C (around 2002/3) I have been on what towcar.com but find it a little hard to understand (IM A WOMAN) it seems I could tow with a vectra dti but none of the other models, but there are 2.0 dti or 2.2 Sri dti so I'm not sure which it would be safe to tow with. I ideally want to spend around £1000 and would like something smartISH I'm not keen on estates so I'm not making the search very easy but a little advice or tips would be mucky appreciate on what tow car would be safe to pull my caravan with. many thanks

You really need to find out loaded weight of caravan before you choose a towcar otherwise its just guesswork. A diesel Mondeo or Vectra of that age is unlikely to be reliable long term. Any repairs are likely to cost more than the car is worth.
