We're going for a Santa Fe in March once the new reg comes out and a few more 2nd hand ones become available. Aiming for 12 or 62 reg 7 seat premium, ideally with media pack at around £21-22k.
Mondeo was nice, but mrs saftlad liked the higher seating in a 4x4, and overall the SF felt better put together than the X-Trail. More power and the ability to get an auto also helped. We had a look in our neighbours Freelander and were surprised by how little room there was in the boot. He also mentioned several trips to the garage which put the kibosh on them too.

Only just seen this thread but I have a santa fe and my garage is 25 miles away. It is a great car and I feel it is better than the x trail as my friend has one and he prefers mine You won't be disapointed, great power, smooth auto changes, great in snow, fuel economy isn't too bad either. I went from an Audi A6 avant which was lovely and german but i do prefer my Santa.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
