Hi has anyone any info on the Volvo V40 auto estate,petrol or diesel towing criteria where i am anticipating buying one to tow my Lunar Ariva, ex works weight 690 max payload 190kgs, would like to know the following, the max towing weight nose weight and if thre the car is up to the job plus reliabilility any info would be much appreciated kind regards George

Towing weights from 1200kg. Depending on the engine and power output.

But as always double check before buying the car. Make sure its not an odd one with a silly low towing figure for some reason.

What years were you looking at? 75kg noseweight.

These are 1996 - 2004 weights.

They are fairly reliable, But if your looking at an older car then condition and the previous owner(s) is very important when buying.

Not uncommon for owners to service the cars for sale and spend £400 on a service then sell then advertise the car for £600 or so.

Just avoid the guy who bought it last week and fitted 4 cheap part worns and has a garden full of bits.
