Hi
I've just purchased a swift rapide 1993 (very excited) also a little anxious.
I pulled her back from Guildford to maidenhead 50 miles in total as my sat nav decided to take me all around the houses but no motorway! Off on my first trip with my two boys next week and a little anxious about my first motorway experience.   Anyway.. I'm now going all around the houses... What should my tyre pressure be on the van? And on my zafira 1.8 auto?
I do worry about snaking when the big lorries over take me - I will not be going over 50 mph, need a bit of help and reassurance please.. Many thanks.

For the Zafira the handbook should show tyre pressures. Inflate them to fully loaded pressures when pulling the caravan. Probably about 36 psi in front tyres and 44 in the back.
For the caravan hopefully someone with 1993 Swift Rapide can tell you exactly. What is the fully laden weight of the caravan and what are the tyre sizes?
As a rough guide my caravan is 1200kg with tyres 175 r13 95/97 and the pressure is 54 psi

Talking about the caravan snaking. The main advice I can give is go slowly downhill as that is when you are most likely to get a snake. If you get into a snake don't brake as it will snake more just keep going or try to slow down gradually. If you start snaking and you are coming to an uphill stretch accelerating a bit will help to straighten you up. Keep to 50 on the flat or gradual downhills. Slower on steeper hills until you gain confidence. You should not have problems at that speed. Slow down early at roundabouts and junctions so you don't have to brake hard and give yourself a good gap in traffic when moving off. Don't overload the caravan. Load the caravan correctly and check the nose weight. Go onto Caravan club website for lots of good advice.
Best of luck,
Fred.

Look on the tyres for the size. 165R 13 tyres and 1000 kg caravan. Until someone gives you better information I would guess your caravan tyres at 48 to 50 psi.

Thank you. I've decided to book it in for a service before I go away for peace of mind.
