Has anyone ever fitted a wireless reverse-view camera to their car (not the caravan)?

Something like
this?

In particular, did the wireless work ok (not interfere with a mobile phone etc) and was the monitor ok (I read a review of someone who complained that the monitor was too heavy and caused the whole thing to come away from the windscreen!)?

It depends on what frequency the transmitter uses if it were to interfere with a phone. It doesn't state if the lcd screen comes with a suction cup or dash mount attatchments. Does it simply fit over the interior rearview mirror? If so does it block the mirror itself? Is it legal to block the rear view, I know you need 2 out of 3 points to look at rear. Personally I wouldn't buy this set up but If you could mount the screen on the dash some way it'll be very usefull. 17

Yes, fits over the existing mirror and is a mirror itself when the screen is off, so quite a clever setup.

Several reviews say it works well - the only complaints are the dodgy quality (as you'd expect for that price) and that one person who said it was too heavy for their mirror.

I'd prefer the wired version but I'm not keen on removing interior panels to route the wires...

I have recently purchased one of these - but I haven't fitted it yet. I have placed on the car (roughly right places) to trial and seemed to work a treat. I have extended the cables so that the transmitter is at the front of the caravan, and the receiver is at the rear of the car - therefore distance is kept to a minimum!

I haven't permenantly fitted yet as I need to drill that important hole in the rear of the van, and I'm not sure where to enter, so the cables are easily accessible but importantly I don't introduce an entry point for rain water. My van has a solid rear (no window), and I'm thinking about using the brake light surround as a mount point and follow its cables as entry - to limit the holes in the van...

Will be fitting when we go out next in about 1mth - so will report back then.
