If you really think a bit of tin wrapped round the row bar is going to stop a caravan snaking then go for it. I had a snake master and an aks1300 but neither make a noticeable difference on a decent outfit.

Do you really need to fit the stabiliser?

If you have issues with stability you need to sort that out before fitting the stabiliser.

Its not a cure for stability issues at normal towing speeds. Its a belt and braces job.


I have towed with and without. The main thing i found to affect stability (providing its loaded properly) was the noseweight.

Too little and it was put off course a little easier than having a higher noseweight.

I have a Mondeo also and find it a lot better when i have it above 70kg. Below 70kg and i do notice, Its not unstable but just a bit more prone to get sucked in with high vehicles.

As close to the maximum limits without going over and its much better.
