The caravan noseweight also becomes part of the cars payload when on the towball, what is the cars payload? If you overload the rear of the car and the back end drops, it can affect the front wheels, traction, steering and braking. The axle limit could also be overloaded. I have a 600kg payload, 75kg is taken up with the noseweight, another 40kg is taken up with the towbar and optional steel spare wheel, (dealer fit and not included in the cars mass in service) then 35kg for bikes on the roof, 25kg steel awning poles, gas bottle (secure and upright), BBQ, weight soon adds up before the passengers get in!
