Hello everyone.

I am a newbie and recently just purchased my first caravan - a 1993 Swift Diamond Pirouette which has a Reich motor mover fitted. The remote worked fine yesterday but today was a bit iffy so I decided that a new battery would be in order. Alas the 9v battery clip has come away from the wires inside the remote. This may be an easy repair job for anyone who is good with electronics and soldering but that is not me. Is there an alternative DIY repair that does not involve soldering. If not any suggestions on where I could get it repaired. Would a TV repair shop do this or a Computer repair shop. There are a couple in the town I live.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Bodgers way if there is enough wire, Strip a few mm of wire away and poke it under the battery clips as you push them on.

Or buy a new battery clip and join/tape the wires to make sure they dont touch.

You can get 10 clips off ebay for £1.

Hi SusW, same thing happened to me last year. Sent it back to Reich ( can give the address if needed ) cost was £30 repair and postage,it takes a week from the day of postage.

The work is guaranteed.Just seen your location, I am in Letham.

You can get a new terminal from Maplin and just twist the new one on the old wires and tape them
