Well, I loved it!!! But, my other half has seen an Insignia that he wants to go and have a look at now! He's driving me crackers!
We're going to have a good think about them over the weekend and make the final decision on Monday. He wants to test drive this Insignia first aand I'll have to do all the research again!
So...I'll be back on Monday with our final decision:)

According to this weeks Autoexpress the Insignia is the best value used car , they were talking about a 1 year old vehicle at around £9K though (1.8 petrol) 2ltr diesel wil be more expensive though. Nip into a newsagent and have a quick read.
I swapped my Mondeo last June. I have always liked the look of the Insignia so that was where I started. We sat inside one and loved it, then I started it and the clatter was much greater than my Mk3 mondeo, so we left. Then I sat in the Mondeo and was content, but it was when I started it and then drove it that i was smitten. I spent all summer saying how daft we would be to swap the old Mondeo which was still doing a brilliant job and was cheap to run, but as soon as I tried the new one the contest was over.

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013

we had vauxhall dealers round our way selling the petrol for 10k new, I had a 1.8 sxi for 3 days once, i was more than happy to hand it back as it drank fuel wouldnt pull you out of bed and was just all round rubbish imho
Quote: 80,000 miles. From around them miles, you may start to have problems with the dual mass flywheel (manuals), the injectors, the fuel pump or the crank end pulleys.
It's not a case of IF, but sadly when they go, (they will all go eventually), they are ALL mega expensive fixes.
If you're going to keep the car a long while, get the conversion done on the clutch back to a solid flywheel, there was no need for ford to stick a chuck of rubber in the flywheel, that's what clutch springs are for.
Sorry, but that's just scaremongering & simply not true. And nobody in their right mind would put a solid flywheel in a hi-torque diesel passenger car these days. The gearbox wouldn't last 5 mins.
Well everyone...just thought I'd update you. We picked up our Mondeo on Thursday night! I absolutely love, love, love it
The only thing we need to do now is to have the tow bar fitted and then it's all systems go. I just hope I've done all my calculations right and got the right match for the caravan Now the only thing I have to do is work out how to get a photo on here to show you all! Just want to say a final thanks for all your help and comments...what a fantastic bunch you are!
