I have had a Westfalia Tow bar fitted to a new type Santa fe which works very well. (The ball hitch is a bit close to the car bumper but its ok with care) To fit this tow bar the fitting company removed the "crash bumper frame" from the car and said that if I wanted to remove the tow bar this would have to be refitted - is this right?

Probably. I had the same thing when I had a Westfalia towbar fitted to my Ford Kuga.

Yes that is correct. Keep the removed part. If you trade car in dealer may want it as towbars are often removed before putting on forecourt.

if its not a removable type of towball,then possibly the wrong towball is fitted.this is the one you need for the al-ko hitch.the wrong type was fitted to mine.

My tow bar is the detachable type so is ok for the alko hitch.
