Hi all

Getting a new company car soon and have a choice of a Passat estate high line or sport which will be a 2ltr DSL blue motion.

Can anybody explain the difference between the two models and the rough cost of a towbar?

I had the same choice, I think the difference is sports seats and front fog lights in the sport as well as the option of the 177bhp engine.

The highline has front and rear parking sensors and only the 140bhp.

I went for the highline as it's cheaper on company car tax due to the lower list price and emissions.

We don't tow with it as have a discovery 4 for that.

The sport has firmer suspension too which might aid towing

The Highline has sat nav built in

You can get the same engine in either model so focus on trim spec, unless your employer is restricting you?

Budget £400 for a tow bar and make sure they use a vehicle specific wiring kit

You can't get the 177bhp in the highline., and the sport also has the same 315 sat nav radio built in !

The suspension is lowered by 15mm in the sport though

The easiest way to check out the VW, is go on the Skoda site and check out the Superb, just ignore the body, shape, they are the same car but with different power options

Highlines and sports are no longer available if a new factory order. Stock vehicles still about but new higher specced 'executive' models available from 2nd jan as current passat model nears end of life. New model due towards end of this year.
