That means on a B licence you can tow a trailer/caravan with a max MAM/MTPLM of 1470 kgs
Providing the vehicle towing capacity does not make the actual weight less than that
Which the Mondeo does to a slight degree.
The cars gross laden weight and max tow weight exceeds the cars gross train weight.
1800kg max tow is with an unladen car. Add weight to the car and the max tow limit reduces.
Your diesel should have a gross train weight of about 3700kg though.
I did wonder if that was legal. Being over 3500kg?
The GTW being listed over 3500 has no bearing on licence
It is the combination of GVW and trailer MAM that matters
Example - a transit van can be 3500 GVW and 6000 GTW but can still be driven on a B licence with a 750 kgs MAM trailer
I could use a similar example for a LGV C vehicle which has the towing bit for a DRAG trailer ... it could be 32000 GVW and 44000 GTW but unless the trailer is over 750 kgs then its still a C licence required and not a CE

You still have that out of date info in your signature
And the Caravans gross laden weight must not exceed the cars UNLADEN weight.
Rog you are 12 months out of date, that condition was removed last year.

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013
Sorry Rog I read it differently but now you say that it is obvious. I just thought it was very unlike you to get that wrong.

Exactly... As clear as a muddy glass of muddy water.
Although it would appear...
Why cant they put it in black and white.
Its bad practice to load a trailer more than the car when caravans are concerned so my signature will stay for the foreseeable future.
It may be bad practise but it is not illegal.
