I give you the legal requirements and the explanation of what figures are required and you come out with a comment like that - WHY?

Ok lets try and explain it

regardless of how little or much your car is loaded it has an absolute maximum legal weight it can be

I.e my Honda weighs 1660kg kerbweight but has GVW of 2160kg = 500kg payload Passengers , luggage etc,

My Caravan has an MPTLM of 1500kg (max loaded figure)

so     1500kg MPTLM
       +2160kg GVW
       = 3660 kg   above 3500kg which mean I need a B+E

You need to work out if your caravan and your Toyota are above the 3500kg .
If your stopped and checked the Police will go on the caravans Maximum loaded weight figure (MPTLM) irrespective of what the caravan weighs at the time.
And your cars GVW - Again irrespective of the actual weight at the time .

I think things are getting a little too heated on here, and everyone needs to calm down.

MysScarlet, please accept that everyone who has commented on here has only done so in your best interests as they see it. Nobody wants to see you get into any legal trouble, or worse still get involved in a nasty accident. You must admit that even if your caravan and car are under the legal limit, they are only just under. Such an outfit may be ok in very experienced hands, but I seem to remember you saying at the beginning that you are not experienced at all with towing. I hold a B+E licence and a D+E licence, and I have considerable towing experience, towing all kinds of trailers all over the country, so I know what can happen. There are plenty of idiots on the road, and if one of them crosses your path it could be you that gets hurt. Nobody on here wants to see that.

If your outfit is legal, and you do decide to use it, take care, and I would recommend you do a towing course with a reputable outfit, such as that offered by one of the caravan clubs.

Best Regards,
Colin
