I,v just bought a 2008 elddis xplore which has a winterhoff hitch fitted, do they all have the internal stabiliser fitted as standard or is it just some model,s cheers.
They stabilise fore and aft as well as side to side, prevents the caravan pitching up and down to some extent as well as stopping the swaying motion. There are usually second hand hitch locks on the bay but they are still expensive. Gumtree might be worth a shot if you need one, I got one for a tenner off there a few months ago.

If you can wait we'll be selling our Stronghold SH5414 Winterhoff WS3000 Caravan Hitchlock in October. We are trading our van next month and the new one has an ALKO. It comes in its own hard case and we have all three keys. The cost £80 ish new so will be looking for £45. It's only a few months old.
