Hi, I am keen to hear if anyone has towed a caravan with the Hyundai i40 tourer and what they thought of it? I have recently bought the i40 and would like to borrow my parents bailey senator Arizona caravan for a holiday to France next year.

What I am particularly interested in is has anyone had any problems with the low height of the car? It seems quite a low car already and I'm afraid that with a caravan attached it might give problems catching on speed bumps, or also driving up the ramps onto the ferry? Has anyone actually towed their i40 and caravan onto a ship? Did it scrape the bottom of the tow bar?

I could be worrying about nothing, but I just want to check if anyone has had any problems towing with the i40, especially to France.

You need to cut the bumper to fit a towbar. So it probably wont pass under the bumper and reduce ground clearance.

Spotted one that says no bumper cut but photo clearly showed the bar coming through the bumper.

Hi we've got an i40 tourer, (love the car) and have a westfalia removeable towbar fitted, very neat and no bumper cutting. Have towed a trailer tent with it and it tows perfectly, have just upgraded to a caravan but have yet to tow it in anger so can't comment on that but it does in theory have good weights etc.

Thanks for the information. I'm not an expert in towing and all the weights specifications, but just want to know that no one has had any major problems towing with the i40. I'll just take her slow and steady! Thanks.
