Hi, we have just bought a caravan that has the 12n and 12s sockets. our car only has the one 7 pin connector.

Can people advise us of what to do as there is so many options and being new to this i am unsure.

The problem you will have is that you have no supplementary power to the caravan whilst towing so no 12v to fridge or to the battery for charging. It depends whether that is important. If it is the easy answer would be to fit or get fitted a grey s socket to the car.

I never use my S socket. My battery is always fully charged before we go and i dont like using the fridge on the move. A personal thing.

Either get the socket swapped to a 13 pin one or use an adapter cable.

As Grampian says it is a matter of choice.
We always use our fridge on the move. If you go abroad you might want to take English goodies like bacon in the freezer.
I would have thought it was worth phoning a mobile fitter for a quote. Probably not more than £40/£50.

If you can cool the fridge before you travel it will stay cool for several hours.

I'd bite the bullet and get your car electrics modernised. Shouldn't be expensive with standard parts.
