Hello, I'm seriously thinking about a 2010 Mazda 6 Takuya 2.2 Diesel. The Gross weight on the V5 is 2110Kg, kerb weight (handbook) of 1555Kg. My Caravan is plated at 1337 Kg MTPL.To my eyes this comes up at 3447Kg, and a 86% match. Not much margin for upgrading the van, but I'm happy with that. Before I make an expensive mistake, could somebody correct me if wrong!
Oh I'm having another shot at my b&e but am going to give it a few months. Failed for doing 54 in a 50 by accident. Nerves!

Yes that would be an ok match. Outfit is under 3.5t combined so you need only a B licence to tow it.

It looks good to me.

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013

Would it not better to wait to retake licence test and then see what you want rather than settling for something you may not just as an alternative thought?

No, I just can't face doing it again right now tbh. And I'm not really settling as I have fallen in love with the model. I'm fine on my own, and with my instructor, I just fall to bits in the actually test. Plus at £185 a shot the costs mount up...

Jenny, The Driving Instructor in me says don't give up, but at £185 I can understand, particularly just before Christmas. If speeding by 4mph was your only serious fault, then don't leave it too long before you have another go. Did you score many driving (minor) faults?

Yes, I think I got 8 minors too, I did completely lose it, surprised myself as i'm a fairly confident person and have towed for years and was fine on the training day (did a perfect reverse too) . Think I need to take some time to figure out why I'm so nervous and go back to it. I'm not giving up!

I sympathise, I go to pieces under pressure, I.have no idea how I passed my b and e, the examiner must have been asleep or drunk I drove that bad, , do have another go when you get chance / funds though for the future.
Your weights look fine to me, good luck with the new car.
