I wouldnt go caravaning without a full size spare for both the car and caravan. You can get SLIME that you put into a good tire that seals the hole on contact with air should a puncture happen, i,v used it on motor bikes and it works, dont know whether it would cope with car tires though.
My wifes Seat Ibiza came with a can of gunk,only the previous owner had decided to keep the compressor! A call to the local Seat dealer and I collected a steel spare wheel&tyre,Jack,Wheel brace,etc for £120 which i didnt think was too bad.Although we have recovery membership its not a bad idea to have a spare and jack.
Yes, but I still wouldn't leave the house without a spare wheel for the car and caravan.
My wife has just changed her van that we use to transport my mobility scooters. We asked about a spare and were told it only came with a can of sealant. No sale.
The very good people bought a new spare wheel and made a bracket to fit it in the van. It has a lowered floor to take the ramp, so the wheel can't go underneath.
Peace of mind is worth having. I've had too many blowouts to risk carrying a can. It won't do much if half the sidewall is ripped out.
I need the RAC to change my wheels these days, but they can't change what's not there. Of course, the worst always happens when the tyre shops have just closed. I prefer to be fixed and on my way.
I have an Vx Antara 4x4 with no spare wheel and tow a van. I purchased a wheel smaller size (16") from a company called Tyreleader and then nipped to the local part worn tyre dealer and go a tyre to fit.
The part worn has excellent tread and will do for a spare, all for the princely sum of £70.00. Vx wanted £320.00 !!!!!!!.
Try them and first class delivery for Germany 2.5 days.
Will certianly use them again should i have a vehicle without a spare.

I have a vauxhall insignia I had a puncture last week and used the can that comes with the car. And I had to drive fifty miles home with no bother. I went to Kwikfit fit when I got back but they didn't have the tyre in stock so drove around till next day with no problems.
