Hi
im purchasing the above vehicle on Saturday after having nothing but trouble with my Kia Sorento.I know the Nissan hasn't got the same pulling power as the sorento but it should be up for the job in towing my Bailey Ranger 510/4 2002.Just wondering does anyone else use the Nissan for Towing and what do they think about it.

I do not know much about them BUT there were many reports regarding failed turbo's on earlier cars. might be best to do some research before you commit to buying
These reports did put me off of buying one

Its the same with any turbo diesel & its mostly missed serviced intervals & incorrect grade/cheap oil used that causes premature turbo failure. Some engines are more fragile than others though. Most important when buying any used diesel car is full service history, preferably from main dealer otherwise leave well alone.

The turbo failures were on the older model 2.2 engines ,the post 2007 model has a 2.0 engine , Our 2008 aventura explorer has now done 120 000 miles 50 000 of these in the 2 years we've owned it and loads of these were towing miles with a 1600 kg caravan, its a great tow car and has never let us down . It will have no trouble towing your caravan

I have but I thought it would be OK to ask for advice on the Forum , just to get
members experiences with this vehicle!! That's what its for isn't it.

thanks very much that's reassuring , In relation to my Sorrento it was a fantastic towing car however I must have bought a dud. Probs since day 1 of purchase (transfer box , turbo and bearings in Diff. When it worked it towed lovely.

Hi Andy, I have a 57 plate x trail 173 bhp with the dci engine. No problem pulling my van which weighs 1460 kgs, it has been a great towcar and its great to drive solo as well definitely the best car I have had. as already stated the turbo problems were on the previous model t30 engine.
