Hi, I will be picking up my new caravan soon, but I can't work out if there is a problem between the car's electrics and the caravan's LED lights. In the "accessories" section of the towing pack for the car, it states that these electrics are NOT suitable for caravans/trailers with LED lights. Caravan manufacturers say that only the brake lights of the caravan are LED and that they have never heard of a problem.

Anybody can help?

Many thanks

jaiash

There have been problems with some cars & caravan led lights. Problem is caused by car electrics not 'seeing' trailer lights due to low current draw. Caravan makers should by now be aware of this & be fitting load resistors in their lighting circuits to negate this problem.

In an earlier thread about this, some Bailey owners had their supplying dealer convert lights back to standard bulbs.

All you can really do is hook car up to caravan & try it.
