Help required if possible, had a Witter detachable tow bar fitted 5 weeks ago, used it to fetch the new van from dealership. No problems until this morning went to attach it to car but unable to owing to the locking bolt stuck in lock position. As its bank holiday Monday nowhere is open. I'm looking for any ideas from you good people.

Yes tried that Dave. Have since found out if you do'nt remove it correctly it goes into charged position which is what's happened.
Have found a video on you tube showing how to put back to a charged position. But I fear something else has occurred be caused I am unable to free it.
Was going to Drayton Manor for a few day, now cancelled.

Hi John. Were you able to rectify the problem with the locked turn handle? I had the same problem with having to recharge the mechanism and now it is stuck in place.
As Chinster1957 has said, just follow that procedure and it should be ready for use, ours was always doing it. We've now swapped tow cars for one with a swan neck towbar fitted, that's how we've solved the problem permanently.
