Hi can anybody help, changing my car getting mpv,thinking about Ford C Max or Mazda5.Getting a petrol as I only do about 6000 miles a year and had terrible problems with my Saab diesel.Do you think I would have any problems towing a 5 x 4 trailer with petrol engine

Not really used to tow my fully laden trailer tent with a 1.8 petrol zafira with no issues

Diesels do tow better but with a small trailer thats well below the towcars max limits you wont have any problems.

Maybe a few more gear changes on the hills at most.

It will depend on the car/engine/power of the actually car, some are underpowered before you add a trailer and fully load the car.

We tow caravan with large petrol MPV, no trouble at all. It's the 2.7 engine with auto box, but from what I've read, the same car with 2.0 petrol engine is a bit under powered.

I tow my van with a 1800 petrol vectra no problem towing, you just need to use the revs and accept that you will burn more fuel which I think is worth paying for to have the reliability of a petrol motor.
