Is your van battery on charge when in storage? An alarm and tracker can soon drain the battery if not kept charged.
If you have the wiring diagram you just trace the wires back to the positive battery terminal.
You want the alarm as close to the battery as possible. But you also want a backup to prevent someone disconnecting the battery and wiping out the alarm and GPS.
Think of a mobile phone, activating the GPS puts quite a bit of extra load on the battery.
