I am going to be getting a new (to me) car in the next few weeks. Looking at getting a Skoda Octavia estate, the big boot appeals as we currently tent camp with no trailer. Was considering getting a towbar fitted when we swap the car, but I am a little perplexed by the electric side of things.
Was planning on getting the tow bar fitted and then keeping out for a camping trailer or trailer tent on eBay. Is there any point in this or am I likely to have to get things rewired when we find something?
Good choice of tow car, plenty of load space. Go to a tow bar fitter and get it wired up with a 13 pin socket for caravan use, extra wiring, relays for battery charging and fridge operation, you may need this for a trailer tent.
You can get an adaptor for the 13 pin socket, to plug in the 7 pin plug for trailer use, that's what I do when I borrow one for taking rubbish to the tip.
As well is two words!
