it does because the suspension set up on the sorento titan is different to my old xs model as facts state, and depending on your age of your sportage the older ones tow better than the new ones as my mates just bought new one and its not as good as his older 2010 plate. also as you have sportage you will be towing smaller caravan than mine unless you towing well close to your curb weight, nothing to do with shocks its done 50.000 miles bought from kia Tonbridge 4 weeks ago and in mint condition I might add, that's why I bought it I don't buy rubbish stuff!!
You have bought a vehicle that is 6 years old and has done 50k miles. It might look "in mint condition" but you know nothing about how it has previously been treated or what use has been made of it. You therefore seem to be going on just it's looks. Not a good idea!
A few years back when i was on holiday and had my Sorento i saw another Sorento pulling a large 4 wheel trailer and on it was a JCB and he was negotiating a roundabout very slowly to avoid it going over.As Sorento's had a quoted tow capacity of 2800kg people used them to tow anything.Although a motor has low mileage and good condition body it does not tell the story of previous life.I had the self levelling Sorento for towing for 10 years but my present Santa Fe does not have it and has no problems with the rear end towing exactly the same caravan.I still believe you have weakened rear springs.

In such `mint` condition you had to change the air filter to make it run properly -"I changed air filter it was black".
Every post you make is contradictory. If something as rudimentary, cheap and easy to swap as an air filter hasn`t been attended to then Lord only knows what the rest of it will be like.
well that's the same as I got now 2009 titan I sorted the power problem my self read some forms and people said try air filter took old one out it was black and very dirty leafs also in there put new one in and wow what a difference . still sags though 50,000 miles on clock and its in mint condition so would not expect shocks to be worn or springs so will still up grade coil springs. thanks for reply.
hey just because a air filter dirty don't mean its a heap mate! I should no its my wagon, and don't see how you can comment on my post as you got a different vehicle being a sportage not SORENTO... different vehicle hence the names. just same manufacture.. thanks for your comments though lol
it didn't have tow bar mate till I got it, other thing is old man had it. other thing is I've only had it three weeks and its only towed once so short of me putting a jcb on the back of it I dought its the springs lol or me that's done so, lol and as im a lorry driver and ex plant mechanic I think I know what im talking about lol and if ive towed some thing to heavy and also note I put car and caravan where empty on hook up......lol
you could say that about any used car mate the fact that kia knows its last owner and gave me a run down of his profile and that it didn't have tow bar and the fact it was a elderly gentleman tells me it not been used to carry heavy weights about such as a jcb lol

Have you checked the noseweight of you caravan? It could be excesssive if caravan is empty with no load further back.
yer lee Davey said it ok that's where I get my caravans from, did try loading further back but it didn't make a lot of difference to be honest most of my belongings get spread over the axel when we loaded up . il try new set of coil springs first as there not expensive

You really don't get it, do you?
If this "car" was as good as you say and you bought it from a Kia dealer 2 or 4 weeks ago (you seem undecided on the date) then why did you need to change the air filter?
If it was good it would have had a dealer warranty and a service before it was sold to you. Obviously it didn't!
How do you know that it didn't have a tow bar on before and that the dealership removed it?
Telling you it was previously is about as trustworthy as "one lady owner"!!
Being a lorry driver or plant operator actually proves nothing.
Sorry but all these little "stories" tells me you've been suckered by a garage and now your having to cope with the problems, and you don't like us telling you that. You have now got to accept that you bought a 6 year old car with 50k miles on that isn't suited to your needs.
I'm sorry OP, I haven't taken the time to read all of your thread, but just wanted to say, what a load of rubbish!
If you've been sold/bought a 'lemon', that's your problem. I'm currently on my 2nd old model Sorento, the current is the updated one. Both XS diesel autos. Both have towed twin-axles, the current one a Conqueror 645 for the past 4 years. Yes, the current updated one without s/l suspension sits down a little at the back, but only a little. But before I bought it, I did research and new what to expect, but as far as performance/handling is concerned, I've noticed no difference between them.
I bought it new with 25 miles on the clock, and it has now done over 110,000 trouble free miles, and still pulls like a train with the caravan on the back.
So don't blame the model, it's your specific car which has a problem. And the fact it's a Titan spec is irrelevant.
By all the OP's ranting he knows he has bought a lemon. There are hundreds of Titans used for towing .I have caravanned for 43 years and also several of the family work in the motor trade.I have removed towbars from several motors when trading in, and my son in law has loads at work in the garage taken off before being sold. The motor was said to be sold as being owned by the little old lady or man story and well maintained. If that was the case it would not of needed the filter changing as it would of had a full service and warranty from a genuine main dealer.
Cannot get his story right, varies at each posting.
