Hi everyone
As relatively newbie caravaners we have our eyes on a sterling elite 570 with a Maximum Technical Permissible Laden Mass of 1628kg. we would welcome any suggestions on what would be a suitable tow car (the normal restraints apply ie funds are limited) at the moment we have a Honda 2014 crv that is too light.

The CRV is rated to tow 2000kgs (manual), kerb weight up to 1730 kgs depending upon spec so would be OK to pull the van you have in mind,ratio would be 95 to 100%. However if you have an auto gearbox it is only rated to to 1500kgs.

The Honda we have is a 2014 1.6 the actual weight we are having difficulty finding.
I have limited past towing and my other half has no experience at all, so the 95% ratio seems a bit high for the two of us.

I looked at the Honda to tow my 1560 kg caravan in the end I decided not as the engine is quite small for a big car and van

Its a 2wd 1.6 model and although the engine seems quite powerful I would prefer a bigger engine.
the caravan we have looked at is the new wood free construction that seems to add weight to the body!
