Hi folks, having problems with car and caravan lights. No lights switched on.... when I brake and indicate both lights go dim and flash. Lights switched on, the reverse and fog lights are on but very dim and when I brake the reverse and fog lights come on full with the brake lights but all the caravan lights come on but very dim, in essence from behind it looks like the caravan lights have gone off, any help appreciated. Happened on a previous car and the guy adjusted a screw in a small box (relay), saw him do it, could it be this. Car and caravan tested independently and work fine, thanks
Problem solved but not what I thought it was. Disconnected the earth in the vehicle socket and ran a separate wire to a point on the chassis, made no difference, put the wire back into pin 3, re assembled and tested again on the van, one of the indicators was not working so I decided to have a look at the caravan plug. Took it apart which involves removing the locking sleeve, no loose wires so put it back together, re-aligning the locking sleeve before tightening it all up, once tight and tested all works as it should. Disconnected the plug, re connected and after another slight tighten of the cable locking 'nut' it now all works. Thanks for the replies
