I believe the Vauxhall lifetime warranty is no longer offered, not shown on their ads now.
Kia 7 year warranty is good, not that you need it often.
As a private buyer a decent warranty shows they have faith in their product.
You are right, which is good for me cos I want my next car to be a Kia Sorento but husband wouldn't consider anything other than Vauxhall because of the warranty. Now I can't start my dream!!!!!!
------------- Started with a motorbike and tent.......my gallery, my life.
My advice for what its worth... will your tow car also be your 'main' car...?
Now I consider myself very fortunate to have at least 5x good trips away in our van each year (Easter, 2x May Banks Hols, Summer & the Aug Bank Hols) which, equals 10x towing journeys if you like.
Given that such a tiny proportion of my time throughout the year is actually spent towing - my new car choice was geared for the solo driving. Just got back from its first outing - two weeks in Cornwall and we couldn't be happier with our choice.

I agree with your thinking totally which is why in somes opinion Skoda's may well be the best Tow vehicle currently manufactured but unfortunately............
I do actually like the look of Insignias but arent sure if I can afford to push the boat out for a Mercedes or just be sensible ???
I still havent decided but thank you for your help.
I too quite like the look of the Insignia's (i think they get a lot of stick for being a Vaux) - the towing figures look good. You also get an awful lot of car for little money..
But.... for me i just don't think they are as a refined package as say Merc/Audi/BMW's etc - which was my number one priority when i bought the Audi.

Agree again, the three cars you mentioned are also my top picks if going for a more luxury vehicle.
Im very happy with the Audi - especially when I'm not towing..! I went for the Black Edition with the larger wheels & sports suspension etc .. it absolutley glues to the road and I don't even notice the van is on the back.
If your looking at something slightly larger - say like an A6 or 5 Series - my brother-in-law tows with a 520 touring and reckons he should have gone for the 3.0 and not the 2.0. Its a large car and he feels that the 2.0 is just a little underpowered.

Im very jealous. The black edition Audi is a great looking car.
Just before Easter my M G zt started giving problems with the central locking, every time it locked the alarm went off. It was due for a service so told the garage of the problem, they managed to temporarily over come the problem, but advised not to spend any more money on it, as the computer was faulty.
We used it over Easter with the caravan, but on return decided to get a new car, so looked at the Insignia and the Skoda Superb, we bought the Superb, a lot of car for competitive price. I haven't towed with it yet, due in a couple of weeks, so see how we go?
Don't tell (Skoda) Bob this but I quite like my Yeti. Makes a good daily beater.
