What can the 'newer' Mondeos tow Steve??

We had a mk3 (56 reg), and even it seemed to struggle with our previous 1300kg caravan??


i used to tow a 1560kg caravan with my 2011 mondeo (140 bhp), no problem and very stable , car weighed in at 1705 kgs

Just weighing up my (future) options when I come to change our current tug...

I thought this van we have now was 1700kgs, but according to the VIN plate, which I eventually found recently, says it's 1500kgs...

So maybe no need for a monster truck in the future....?

My Mk4 Mondeo estate 2L TDCi has no problems pulling 1200kg

Plenty to choose from and are reliable and handle very well when not towing

I've spotted a very clean Nissan XTrail 2.2dci Sport at the local Nissan dealers. It's a 55 plate 1 owner with full dealer history and has done 70k.
Dealer is offering to fit a brand new towbar and put 12 months mot on it for £4995

Does anyone have experience of the XTrail as a towcar and is this a good deal?
