I seem to remember that to be the case also with the X Trail, the Auto has a lower tow rate than the manual. So make sure you check that out.
However, do not be put off from a SUITABLE Auto towcar, it will be better than a manual for towing any day. I know this will be debated everywhere, but ask any expert or experienced tower, Auto is the way to go.
On a personal point of view, please make sure whatever you choose is suitable with some to spare. Good luck. 👍
