Bought a towbar through a Peugeot dealership for my 16 plate 308. Went to pick up my new caravan and the indicators won't work and the OS side light flashes. After looking at a few forums I thought the problem may lie in LED connection so I bought a standard non LED tow board and the lights worked without the ignition on and still no indicators . Supposed to going on holiday so I've left the car at Peugeot today (Sunday) and hoping it can resolved. Any ideas or experiences like this as we're very new to this.

Unless its a programming issue, seems there is a dogy wire in the connection.

Having the new lighting board and it shows the same problem proves its not your van or board at fault. Well almost.

Would be rare to have another item bought with exactly the same fault.

There is a possibility that the work was contracted out to an independent towbar fitter which quite often that's what dealerships do.
Was the vehicle installed with the latest 13 pin towing socket or the older twin 7 pin sockets?
What type of plug connections do you have on the caravan?
Have the caravan plugs been converted from twin plugs to a single 13 pin plug?
A few more details may help because a mixture of the two types of connections can sometimes cause the symptoms you have.

The caravan is a new teardrop which has a 7 pin connection. I know that the fitting wasn't contracted out as the technician who fitted it showed me how the fitting of the detachable bar went and he works for the dealership. I have tried connecting the van to another vehicle and everything works fine.

I had a towbar fitted to my merc last week and went on holiday the following day.
When I pressed the brake pedal all the sidelights came on on the caravan and when I turned on the lights, the brake lights came on.
I would have initially thought it to be a simple wiring error but further into my journey the lights all worked as they should......until they didn't again.
I put it down to a faulty relay and spoke to the fitter whilst I was away and he thinks the same.
Taking car in later this week to have it sorted.

So you have answered you own question really. You initially connected a trailer lighting board to the vehicle's 7 pin towing socket which displayed the error. The teardrop caravan has been hooked up to another vehicle and the lighting was evidently satisfactory so the underlying problem is definitely related to the towbar wiring. You need to take the vehicle back to the Peugeot dealer and explain this to them and request that they rectify the fault.
