Having trouble detaching this towbar ! key will not fit all the way home, and will not turn to unlock ! (i am assuming the lock barrel is broken. Will try and lubricate it in the mean time. .. . any other help would be appreciated.

Seems you can but a replacement housing with keys. Looks a pig to fit though ! old one has a couple of springs and pins.

Not a fan of detachable towbars, some are finicky when it comes to fitting/removal.

You must fit it this exact amount and then whilst standing on your head....

I think your idea of lubricating it the way to go. A small amount of dirt or corrosion can cause problems.

A good spray with WD40 or Plusgas etc. Give it a little wiggle and try again. If it doesn't work. Just spray it again and try later.
